A hands-on approach to healthcare has always been my focus, so directing my career towards massage therapy was an exciting and easy decision for me.
I graduated from Everest College in July 2009. After graduating, I completed the provincial exams and became registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.
I am positive, enthusiastic and caring with an excellent knowledge of anatomy and physiology. I am bilingual, with a working knowledge of French. I have experience in many types of massage, ranging from feather light relaxation to intensive deep tissue. My specialties are sports massage and deep tissue.
I have experience working with a variety of clients as a massage therapist in a physiotherapy clinic. I worked with the physiotherapist to help provide the absolute best treatment and care to clients so as to optimize their chances of recovery and speed up the healing process.
In October 2014, I became a K-Taping Pro Certified Therapist with the K-Taping International Academy. K-taping has muscle, ligament, lymphatic and corrective applications, which can decrease pain and increase function, without the use of pharmaceuticals.
I treat many different conditions, which include:
- Sports injuries
- Muscle tension
- Back, leg and neck spasms
- Dislocations and fractures
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Anxiety and depression
- Gastrointestinal issues
My goal as a massage therapist is not simply to assist in the healing process. I also wish to educate clients on proper posture, body mechanics and self-care, so as to encourage relaxation, to promote healthy coping mechanisms for stress, and to prevent injuries from occurring in the future.
I look forward to meeting with you all.
K-Taping (Neuro-Proprioceptive Taping) Information K-Tape is an elastic stretch cotton tape with an acrylic adhesive that has muscle, ligament, lymphatic and corrective applications. It can decrease pain and increase function, without the use of any pharmaceutical ingredients. It achieves this by increasing the sub-epidermal space, thus increasing circulation to the area. “A K-Taping application simultaneously facilitates the reduction of edema, improves lymph and blood circulation and contributes through proprioception to the normalization of muscle function and the support of ligaments and tendons” (Kumbrink, 2014). The result is generally a rapid reduction of pain and an improvement in the joint and muscle function.
