Cupping therapy has been used for 3500 years in China and has been used in professional medical treatments throughout Europe. Cupping is practiced in government sponsored hospitals of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). The fundamental therapeutic value of cupping has been documented through several thousand years of clinical and subjective experience and has advanced its application in many areas.
Cupping in conjunction with bamboo massage helps expand the capillaries which increases the amount of fluid that enters and leaves the tissues thus provoking a relaxation response which lowers stress. In randomized clinical trials cupping was found to be helpful in the following conditions:
- Reduces pain in lower back pain
- Relaxes tense muscles
- Tension headaches
- Boost skin health
- Improves blood flow and reduces inflammation
- Helps treat respiratory issues and colds
- Improves the immune system
Bamboo massage is a new way of having to provide deep tissue massage using heated bamboo to roll and knead the muscles. By doing so, it releases fascia as it works along various fascia planes in the body. Bamboo sticks are hollow and organically treated that come in various lengths and diameters depending on the level of release that is required. As the bamboo provides a deep firm massage it increases circulation and sensory nerve perception resulting in a deep relaxation massage.
I have subsequently discovered that when the two are combined a deep tissue response contracts the muscle which in turn promotes warm blood flow. Inflammation is reduced and a sense of relaxation is elicited as the fascia and corresponding muscles group in length and release. Clients have experienced significant decrease in pain and a significant reduction of trigger points in the body.
